Saturday 3 October 0900-1700
0830 Final Set Up For Exhibitors and Reenactors - All Privately Owned Vehicles that are non-display vehicles must be cleared from the exposition area at this time. Anyone arriving late will have to park in the general parking lot and bring his or her equipment in.
0900 Officer's Call - All Periods and All Units need to send a representative to this meeting. Unit leaders will be asked for a narrative for the Pass-in-Review Parade.
1000 Opening Ceremony This is the official opening of the event. The opening will be replete with a Gun Salute provided by the Washington Artillery of New Orleans, and the Ceremonial Raising of the Flag rendered by members of one of our Youth Programs. Official welcome from the MTHE Executive Director.
1100 Colonial Presentation Come learn the perspectives about the War in the Colonies from both the Loyalists and from the Sons of Liberty. Visit the encampments and ask our historians about any aspect of colonial living. Regular Army troops from each side as well as scouts, rangers, irregulars and civilians will have interesting and in depth displays of life in the colonies during the birth of our nation.
1200 Pass-in-Review Pageantry Parade - This is one of the special features of the MTHE. The units participating in this event come through the parade based on the period of history each group represents. There is much pageantry, color, and music and this parade is a real crowd pleaser. Troops from Caesar's Rome, Washington's Continental Army to General George Patton's 2nd Armored Division and beyond will pass in front of the reviewing stand adorned with America's real heroes - our veterans!
1300 Civil War Presentation - Continue traveling back into history and visit the War Between the States. Visit the Union and Confederate camp. Ask the men and women why they are participating in a struggle that threatens to tear the Union apart. Visit the camps and experience the lives of Union and Confederate soldiers as they proudly demonstrate how they lived, ate and served their countries.
1400 Spanish American War Presentation The “Splendid Little War”, as Teddy Roosevelt characterized the Spanish American War, was the conflict that brought the United States of America onto the world stage as a major Western power. In 2001, Roosevelt would receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for his service during that conflict making T.R. the only American president to be a Medal of Honor recipient.
1500 Great War Presentation - Visit the trenches of World War I and experience how the Doughboys, Tommies, Poilu, and Huns existed on the Western Front from 1914-1918. Come and see their equipment and living conditions in a realistic area complete with a No Man’s Land, the area between the two opposing lines.
1600 WWII Living History Presentation - Come see a WWII Medical Aid Station and talk to the medical staff on what it took to care for our wounded warriors. See the Allied and Axis forces display their equipment and tactics. They are extremely knowledgeable in their fields of expertise.
