Saturday 11 October 0900-2100

0830 Final Set Up For Exhibitors and Reenactors
All Privately Owner Vehicles that are non-display vehicles, must be cleared from the exposition area at this time. Anyone arriving late will have to park in the general parking lot and bring his or her equipment in with or electric carts. MTHE will have a utility cart staged for that purpose.

0900 Officer's Call - All Periods and All Units need to send a representative to this meeting. Unit leaders will be asked for narrative for the Pass-in-Review Parade. Needs to have enough information to fill approximately 30 seconds of narration.

0930 Opening Ceremony
This is the official opening of the event with the AMVETS Department of California Commander John Reece. The opening will be replete with a Gun Salute provided by the Washington Artillery of New Orleans, and the Ceremonial Raising of the Flag rendered by members of the 5 th Battalion Young Marines.

1000 Ancient Period Presentation
This presentation will be in the Ancient Period Arena in the Southern most portion of the Exposition. Demonstrations on the living conditions of the various periods throughout early civilization will be discussed and demonstrated.

1030 Ancient Period Demonstration
A chosen unit from the Ancient Period will be featured in a demonstration in armaments, tactics, riding techniques, or camp life A chosen unit from the Ancient Period will be featured in a demonstration in armaments, tactics, riding techniques, or camp life.

1100 Colonial Presentation
Come learn the perspectives about the War in the Colonies from both the Loyalists and from the Sons of Liberty. Visit the encampments and ask our historians about any aspect of colonial living. Regular Army troops from both sides as well as scouts, rangers and irregulars will have interesting and in depth displays of life in the colonies during the birth of our nation.

1130 Colonial Firing Demonstration
This portion of the Exposition will feature a skirmish between British and Colonial troops and might encompass an Artillery Firing Demonstration.

1200 Assembly For the Pass-in-Review Parade
The historical interpretive specialists as well as Young Marine, JROTC and Military units will begin preparing for the Pass-in-Review Pageantry Parade at the bottom of the hour.

1230 Pass-in-Review Pageantry Parade
This is one of the special features of the Marching Through History Exposition. The units participating in this event come through the parade based on the period of history each group represents. There is much pageantry, color, and music and this parade is a real crowd pleaser. Come see troops from Caesa's Rome, Washington's Continental Army to General George Patton's 2nd Armored Division and beyond, pass in front of the reviewing stand adorned with America's real heroes - our veterans!

1300 Boat Landing and Impressment Demonstration - New this year!!! The British Navy will be using their Jolly Boats to come ashore and find "willing" or "unwilling citizens" to join the Royal Navy and see the world! These hostile and illegal actions against American citizens in our seaports was one of the reasons that drew the new Republic known as the United States up against the British Empire for the second time in a generation known as the War of 1812.

1330 Mexican War "Battle of Chino"
The first battle of the war in California took place at the Chino Rancho about twenty-five miles east of Los Angeles in the neighborhood of which Stockton had directed some twenty Americans to keep in close touch with one another for the purpose of guarding the San Bernardino frontier against the possible return of General Castro and an armed force from Mexico. The result of the battle was one Californio killed and several wounded and three Americans wounded seriously.

1400 Civil War Presentation
President Abraham Lincoln will recite the Gettysburg Address for the gathering in front of the Union Army Camp. The Medical Department will also be demonstrating the level of care given in a Civil War Field Hospital.

1500 Great War Presentation
Visit the trenches of World War I and experience how the Doughboys, Tommies, Poilu, and Huns existed on the Western Front from 1914-1918. Come and see their equipment and living conditions in a realistic area complete with a No Mans Land the area between the two opposing lines.

1530 Great War Battle Reenactment
Trenchwarfare one the Western Front created killing fields of never before seen proportions… battles such as Verdun and the Somme River Battles saw as many as 500,000 soldiers killed in three days fighting.

1600 WWII Living History Presentation: Come see a WWII Medical Aid Station and talk to the medical staff on what it took to care for our wounded warriors. Allied and Axis displays also have interesting and complete equipment and accoutrements and are extremely knowledgeable in their fields of expertise.

1630 WWII Battle Reenactment: Come see the Allied Forces take on the German Army on the Western Front after the D-Day landings. Armor vehicles, automatic weapons and good old GI's are the order of the day in this the 60 th anniversary of the end of WWII.

1700 Vietnam War Presentation: Vietnam era encampment will do demonstrations relating to the United States involvement in the Conflict in Southeast Asia from 1965-1973.

1730 Event Closed to the General Public
IMMEDIATELY following the end of the Vietnam War Presentation, the event will be closed to the General Public so that the MTHE Dinner for participants can begin promptly at 1800. The dinner should be completed by 2000 if all goes well… there will be some form of entertainment, music, live performances, etc from 1900-2100 - Specifics TBA.

Sunday 12 October 0900-2100

0700-0900 Breakfast For Exhibitors – Young Marines/JROTC/Reenactors/MTHE Staff begin food service and complete food service by 0900… Tustin Young Marines will be serving the meals as they always do. Will be the usual breakfast faire.

0830 Sunday Services
Chaplain will offer services to all who wish to partake. Chaplain will be performing a “period” service from the era he represents.
